You'll play a key role in driving supply chain performance, delivering cost savings, mitigating risk, and ensuring our projects have the right partners in place to achieve successful outcomes.
If you have a strong background in construction or building services procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and enjoy building collaborative supplier relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Lead procurement activities across assigned projects and business areas.
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that support project and business objectives.
- Manage competitive tendering processes, supplier negotiations, e-auctions, and package procurement.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where required.
- Ensure suppliers operate in line with agreed service level agreements and contractual commitments.
- Identify opportunities for volume aggregation, package bundling, and value engineering initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic supply chain partners.
Project Delivery Support
- Produce and manage procurement plans and procurement schedules.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure procurement requirements align with programme and commercial objectives.
- Lead regular procurement review meetings, recording actions and driving timely completion.
- Support project mobilisation through the development of supplier service level agreements and procurement targets.
- Provide procurement expertise and market intelligence throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Establish and manage project procurement savings targets.
- Maintain procurement savings trackers and provide regular reporting to key stakeholders.
- Deliver measurable cost savings while maintaining quality, programme, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute procurement data and performance metrics to business dashboards and reports.
Work Winning Support
- Support bid and work-winning teams with procurement expertise, market intelligence, and supply chain insights.
- Provide procurement data and advice to help develop competitive and deliverable proposals.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Support the development and profile of the procurement function across the business.
- Foster collaborative working relationships with project teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues and any direct reports where applicable.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and shared success.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Champion health, safety, and environmental best practice in all procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement systems and ways of working.
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Significant experience in an operational buying or procurement role.
- Experience procuring both high-volume and high-value material and subcontract packages.
- Previous procurement experience within a building services, engineering, MEP, or construction environment.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and procurement/business systems.
Desirable
- CIPS qualification or working towards professional membership.
- Experience supporting major construction or engineering projects.
- Experience using e-auctions and strategic sourcing tools.
- Knowledge of supplier performance management methodologies.
