Mechanical Cost Engineer (Estimator)

SummaryThis role sits within the Estimating team and focuses on delivering accurate and competitive mechanical (MEP) cost estimates across projects in London and the South, over a broad variety of sectors such as infrastructure, commercial, healthcare, and energy.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed mechanical (MEP) cost estimates and take-offs
- Support tendering and work-winning activities
- Review drawings, specs, and tender documents
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams
- Contribute to tender submissions and cost narratives
- Maintain cost databases and benchmarking data
- Support pre-construction and project handover phases
What we’re looking for
- Proven Mechanical (MEP) estimating experience
- Background across sectors such as infrastructure, commercial, healthcare, or energy
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
