Senior Electrical Quality Inspector

Bridgwater - Hinkley Point C

Permanent – Full Time

Summary

 

NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.  This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

 

As we grow and expand on the project we are looking to bring in a Senior Electrical Quality Control Inspector to lead the electrical inspection team covering the MEH Alliances installed works.   

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
  • Liaise with client’s representative for conducting of day-to-day inspection during the construction activities.
  • Ensure work activities are in compliance with ECS Code, drawings, vendor and code requirements with respect to; material, alignment, etc.
  • Assist QC Manager and Area Leads in executing their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining LTQR’s as required during inspections ensuring all signatures on LTQR and ITP during inspection.
  • Updating SONIM register as required.
  • Champion Foreign Material Exclusion, preventing ingress or entrapment of non-specified materials, loose items or debris in equipment and /or systems during assembly and testing.
  • Lead and manage a team of Quality Inspectors, ensuring deliverables are met through:
    • Daily task allocation and oversight of inspection activities.
    • Monitoring team performance and providing coaching and support.
    • Ensuring timely completion and accuracy of inspection documentation.
    • Supporting team development and training initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Electrical/Electronics/instrumentation, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).   
  • Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391 qualification
  • Substantial experience of Quality Control during the installation, inspection and testing of electrical and instrument systems associated with process plant during construction and operation.
  • Previous experience leading a team of inspectors preferably in construction, engineering or other highly regulated industries.

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project:

We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
